// Fuel 24/7 //

Fuel barcode has now changed to 23/24 Season version on the new membership cards. Peter from Hauraki Express has informed us that 95 Octane petrol is now being served at KBC fuel jetty. This he maintains is the better product for higher performance engines.

// We have a Mooring!//

Thanks to a generous donor, we now have a brand-new mooring for members to use. Available for 1-night stays on a first-come, first-served basis (1200-1200 hrs), it can be found in Smelting House Bay at Coordinates -.36.25.372 / 174.50.361 and is marked SM15. Please respect this offer, it’s for members only, and move off by midday latest to allow someone else to use it.

//KBC is on Channel 8! [Remember it as ‘K8C’]//

We now have a VHF radio in the club rooms, switched on and tuned into Channel 8 for ship-to-shore and ship-to-ship communications. Use it to reserve a table, find out if your friends are planning to be there, check if anyone can tender you in, etc. A multiple of uses – try it out.

//Bistro News – New Tender!//

Club VHF is fully charged and ready to go! We have a small tender with new outboard and KBC flag on it. After dropping your guests off, one of your guests can putter out on our inflatable and pick the skipper off and tie back off. Alternatively, if no competent dinghy skipper is available, the main skipper can tow the dinghy out to anchor, then return and tie up. Always return promptly for the next person and listen or look out for anyone needing to hitch a ride.

// NOTE: For the Squadron Moorings //

Please contact the RNZYS. KBC no longer manages the RNZYS moorings.

The moorings located outside Lidgard House are owned by the Squadron and they manage the bookings for these. An online system is available on the RNZYS website for RNZYS members but if KBC members wish to book, please contact the Squadron.

//About Us: THE KAWAU BOATING CLUB Inc.//

Successor to the wonderful old KIYC (1952),  Kawau Boating Club opened its doors Labour Weekend 2014. Since then significant up-grades have taken place to the Clubhouse and facilities, and following on from our previous Bistro managers David and Robyn Lee our new managers, Daniel and Renee are looking forward to seeing you this summer for top quality service, food and beverages.

Members receive a discount on food and beverages, free access to showers, water, laundry and Wi-fi access in the Clubhouse.  More important though - subscription revenues keep the Club going and help fund the up-grading of facilities and keep the doors open. Support  from the boating community since has been outstanding with almost 800 members by closure for the winter in 2015. Latest boating Club to affiliate is Outboard Boating Club ( Auckland) joining RNZYS, Ponsonby CC, Devonport YC, Richmond YC and Sandspit YC. If this continues, KBC continues.  Please join or renew.
